Jim Kaeb, left, general manager of Berwick Co-op Oil Co., receives an award
from Tom Drew, right, district sales manager for Growmark FS of Bloomington,
Illinois, Friday, November 14, at Berwick Co-op’s Sabetha office. Growmark’s
Western Marketing Division recognized Berwick Co-op Oil as the Top Volume
Company in Kansas and second overall in the Western Division, which includes
eight states, and as a Company of Excellence in Risk Management. Berwick has
grown to a multi-million dollar company. Kaeb said he appreciates Growmark’s
business relationships, cooperative involvement, alliances and subsidiaries.
According to Kaeb, Berwick also does about 30 percent of its business with
Cenex CHS Regional Cooperative. Berwick’s vision is to be the best fuel-propane
cooperative system in the region, and its mission is to improve the long-term
profitability of its member-owners, Kaeb said. The Berwick Co-op Board and
the co-op’s management appreciate everyone for their support in the fuel and
propane business over the past years. Kaeb said the co-op’s outlook for 2009
is positive, but careful planning is needed to achieve every-day excellence in
getting product to customers in a timely fashion and helping them make good
energy-purchasing decisions.
